2 weeks old

In her first 2 weeks of life, she has already gained a pound and grew half an inch! This was great news at her doctor appointment on Monday. She is doing well- eating a lot, sleeping pretty well, and her alert times are getting more and more alert. Over the week, she has also:

Made her first trip to the mall! (we are high-fiving...)

Watched a Michigan Football game

Met Grams for the first time (and she's so excited to meet G-Pa on Saturday!)

Consumed us with her cuteness

My Mom

Yesterday I dropped my mom off at the airport after she so willingly & joyfully gave of her time, love, and amazing self for the last 10 days. I'm overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude and I am eternally grateful for the blessing God gave me in my mother. They say you can only understand the love of a mother to daughter once you have one of your own- I am humbled now getting a glimpse of the love she feels for me. My mom is the most unselfish, positive, beautiful, talented, giving woman I have ever known and she truly exemplifies the wife & mother that God commands us to be as women. I audaciously pray to be the mother to Fallon that my mother has been to me. Thanks, mom, for all you did here (cleaning, taking care of Big Shot, loving our daughter, cooking, bonding, and ANYTHING and everything I needed) and thank you for loving me and showing me how to be a mom. Fallon Jo is so lucky to have your namesake, Rebecca Jo!

And, of course, a heartfelt thanks to my dad, too. Thanks for coming and spending time with our family. Because of you, I know the special place that girls have in their hearts for their daddies, and I can't wait for Fallon to feel that way about Bryon. I love you so much and cannot thank you enough for the man that you are.

Almost a week old!!

Fallon turns one week old tomorrow! Crazy to think what we were thinking last week at this time as we prepared to go to the hospital. Actually, I was thinking of vocab words as I beat Bryon in scrabble, but that was just a distraction from the incredible excitement. We seem to learn something new about this whole parenting thing every minute of every day.

A few more milestones from the last few days:
  • Daddy gave Fallon her first bath, they both did fantastic
  • We had our 5-day check up at the doctor's office and everything looks great. Doctor: "Oh yes, the ALERT baby!"
  • She seems to have perfected "downward dog" as she lays on her belly, puts her feet down, and pushes her butt up in the air. Next week, we predict walking :)
  • We've discovered her smile means she's preparing a gift in her diaper for us. We love it every time anyways! (caught one in a picture in the album)

Fallon's Big Day Home

We were SO excited to bring Fallon home and show her the nursery we worked so hard on...she may have slept through it all but we're pretty sure she likes it here. Our life over the last couple of days has consisted of:
  • Staring at Fallon
  • An amazing amount of dirty diapers for Daddy
  • A short trip out of the house for Mommy- which ended quickly when I realized I didn't really want to be out of the house...
  • Staring at Fallon
  • Feeling way more love than we thought possible- and having dreamed about this for a long time, we had some high expectations!
Here is another album of pictures:

And of course, another video:

Thanks for all the well wishes! I can't wait to show her off to each of you :)
